Bruce has been retired from the practice of law for more than 9 years. He had a general practice that lasted for 33 years in Calgary and Strathmore. During his career, he dealt with complex legal matters and appeared in all the levels of Court in Alberta. Before becoming a lawyer, he was a member of the RCMP for 8 years.

Now in retirement, Bruce continues to have a very active life. He has been involved with different boards in Strathmore. Currently, he is a board member of the Wheatland Society of Arts. Bruce also teaches different watercolour techniques to art students in Strathmore.
